Project Objectives

(i) Investigate the integration of high-speed integrated digital circuits with fibre-coupled optical sources and receivers

(ii) The production of a compact crossbar switch that will enable the routing of high-speed optical signals under external electrical control (circuit-switched crossbar).

STAR Project Status: Grant ended November 2000. Project continues as 3DLC.

3DLC Project Status: Grant ended April 2005. Further funding sought.
